“The Butterfly War” series is dedicated to childhood. Each work expresses one of the feelings that a child might experience on the way to growing up. Some of the feelings are based on my childhood memories. I aimed to convey emotions through the application of diverse colors and textures.

Butterflies symbolize children. They bring joy, beauty, love, harmony, and happiness to our world. The butterflies as well as children are innocent, fragile, and helpless.

Children know how to dream. In childhood, we all have dreams and hopes for the future. But society teaches us to give up on our dreams and obey the rules. They teach us to stop believing in magic and forget about who we are. “The Butterfly War” series is about fighting with the cynical part of society in order to keep alive those tiny butterflies in each of us.
